If there is a mouse it with probability of 99.9 % will be with a wheel. But if there will be a notebook? On   the average button especially you will not represent. In one of projects (the editor of printed-circuit boards) we included in system requirements presence  with three buttons - on a wheel scaling and panning have been hung up. But this application specific, is time, and two - these commands were  combinations of buttons  and .

Hello, Barbar1an, you wrote: whether B> it is possible to put now in design that presence of the average button at the mouse were mandatory? I think that is not present. I.e., on it it is possible to hang up any convenient function, but not to hang up function without which it is difficult  is better.

The linuhnyj driver represents pushing on  the button by simultaneous  three (!) fingers. Personally sleight of hand in half of cases does not suffice me. It, by the way, represents a wheel more accessible gestures: it is enough to move upwards/downwards (or even to the right/to the left - it, actually, represents not a wheel, and a ball) at once two fingers. Needlessly to put them to  simultaneously with the accuracy accessible to only circus actors.
