Topic: How to enumerate an index column?

Which looks as

ID int PRIMARY KEY NOT NULL IDENTITY (1,1)

Let's admit in table 6 of records. If to delete a line with ID = 3. That after ambassador ID = 2, begins at once ID = 4. How to enumerate a column that after removal does not remain ruptures?

Simple methods are not present. If open numbering is necessary to you - identity to you does not approach

The table for transient data. When necessity in what that records of this table disappears, it is moved to the archive table. Thus indexing breaks. It would be necessary for me that it did not break.

Yes same it should is unimportant what there to be interposed, the main thing that numbers in sequence and  was. At a companion ruptures and all breaks, well as you do not understand?

IDENTITY it is intended for other purposes. For creation of the substitute primary keys calculated for a fast insertion of the data. Therefore ruptures there are admitted. It is important, that productivity was high.
