Topic: Mixing of Oracle and ANSI style in syntax

Good evening.
In what sense of mixing of Oracle and ANSI style of connection of tables at sampling?
That is what for to write here so:

select *
from table1, table2
join table3
on table2.tab = table3.tab
where table1.tab = table3.tab
and table1.tab2 = ' XXX ';

If FROM it is possible to write or completely through ' join ' or completely through commas.
As on me, the code only becomes less readable.
Thanks.
