Topic: I ask the help in a configuration choice.

Hello.
Very badly I understand gland, especially in the server.
Therefore I ask to estimate the selected configuration and to help to avoid at least children's errors.
The server for loading from it 80 clients is required:
- OS (windows)
- The modern games (10 - 50 Gb)
- Storage in storage of a cache of clients before their reboot.
Unfortunately more precisely in digits I can not estimate it (iotop shows to 300m/s on reading). OS - Debian7.
Now with these tasks on 30 clients with frequent problems old man ASUS P8H77-V LE / Intel Pentium G2130 / 32Gb DDR3 / 4 * ST3500630AS RAID 0 + SSD 480Gb OCZ Vertex 3 Low Profile VTX3LP-25SAT3-480G / Gigabit LAN consults. / WD40EURX 4 for .
Problems appear at simultaneous loading of heavy games by clients, or at update of games.
The motherboard - Supermicro X10SRL-F
The processor - Intel Xeon E5-1620V4
Storage - DDR4 LRDIMM 64Gb PC19200 2400MHz Samsung ECC Reg Load Reduced (M386A8K40BM1-CRC) (on 30 clients one, then adding)
Network board - Intel E10G42BTDA X520-DA2
HDD - 2 * ST400620AS RADE 1 for loading (free)
HDD - 1.92Tb Samsung MZILS1T9HEJH-00007 PM1633a - games.
The controler - Lsi 00346 SAS 9300-4i <00346> RTL PCI-Ex8, 4-port SAS/SATA 12Gb/s
HDD - 4 * ST3500630AS RAID 5 (free)
HDD - WD40EURX 4 for .
Switch HP 1950-48G-2SFP +-2XGT for 10 on the server.
The power unit, cable to a switch, yet did not select cable SAS.
All budget, with a switch nearby 300 .
The main objective is speed of operation and the sizes of storage, for  I will leave an old configuration.
If "all is bad", I ask the moderator to delete a subject, the purchase the selected configuration.
Thanks.

The Motherboard - Supermicro X10SRL-F
The processor - Intel Xeon E5-1620V4
Storage - DDR4 LRDIMM

And if to glance in the description :
https://www.supermicro.nl/products/moth … 0SRL-F.cfm

E5-1600 series CPU does not support LRDIMM type memory

And - what for such brutal units on 64? On 32 normal RDIMM type, there 8 slots on .
Besides, in my opinion, there it will be strong more effectively E5-2620V4, than E5-1620V4 - just for a considerable quantity of users.

HDD - 1.92Tb Samsung MZILS1T9HEJH-00007 PM1633a - games.

what for under games to put SAS SSD - to me too it is not so clear, rests against a network, than in them much earlier. Use SATA, at least PM863a from the same Samsungs.
And it. At you all in air will hang or any case is supposed?

Looked through, still yesterday thought about E5-2609 v4. In an adjacent branch read that 26 for 2 processor systems. Thanks.

At cost it is almost identical, thought better to leave a backlog on the future. Or they from "atrocity" will work is worse?

Here at me again a problem with  values. How to pick up optimal speeds of reading and IOPS for a network 10GbE? Whether the sense will use 2 ports of a network board?
The case probably wash IN-WIN "IW-Q2000"

Re: I ask the help in a configuration choice.

boris2017

How to pick up optimal speeds of reading and IOPS for a network 10GbE?

So it is not necessary to select for a network - under the task select smile
Certainly, SATA SSD rather SAS have approximately twice the worst productivity - but thus do not demand the additional controler and cables.
About the case you again did not write - and it too costs money.

5

Re: I ask the help in a configuration choice.

The task as much as possible to increase speed of parallel reading by clients these tens .
Difference certainly in cost essential 30  but if speed rises in two - I likely agree.

Re: I ask the help in a configuration choice.

boris2017

The Case probably wash IN-WIN "IW-Q2000"

all Cooks in it.
On  - well you adjust aggregation of these two channels, well receive 1 GBYTE/WITH a maximum.
So besides is and with SATA SSD it is possible to receive, not from two till 1.92 - so with 4 on 960, and all the same it will be cheaper.

Re: I ask the help in a configuration choice.

Give advice about the case, not expensively and effectively. For this board and disks from 8. (Supermicro X10SRL-F)
And why it is not expedient to put DDR4 LRDIMM 64Gb PC19200 2400MHz Samsung ECC Reg Load Reduced (M386A8K40BM1-CRC) with the subsequent magnification?

Re: I ask the help in a configuration choice.

boris2017

Give advice about the case, it is not expensive and effective

In an ideal - such: https://www.supermicro.nl/products/chas … 45TQ-R920B
Or at least the such: https://www.supermicro.nl/products/chas … TQ-865B-SQ .

And why it is not expedient to put... Load Reduced

Because does not earn at first, and it is expensive secondly.

You understand, what disks need to be cooled, and cooling will rustle? Server cases are ground to lead out heat in  frames, and the above temperature behind a board, the more intensively they will buzz, trying to lead temperature inside to optimal parameters.
[del] In cases with double power units (reliability +) stand  on 40 which really squeal if the temperature behind a board is more than 21-22 degrees. [/del]
[off] here I doubt, what exactly   squeal, because all of them start to sing (in the case and in ) separately somehow did not research. But I can precisely tell that server 40 coolers generally are not compatible in any way to silence, even on low turns [/off]
If the silence is necessary - cheaply it does not turn out, consider it

For a file server? I doubt.
BTW, here and E3 perfectly would approach, for example

boris2017
(On 30 clients one, then adding)
On me it is necessary to take laths on number of channels
On disks a_shats correctly wrote:

Replaced on 3 micron eco 5100 1.9Tb in  raid 5. Will be slightly more expensive, but it is more reliable [off] (loss individual ssd does not lead to loss of the data; and today's server ssd  it is more reliable hdd) [/off], is more productive [off] (as a whole, at least here there will be no bottlenecks in a type hdd) [/off] and is more silent [off] (less consumption - less need for cooling, and in itself ssd work silently) [/off].
Only it is necessary  loading on record - whether transit these disks on a resource (if is not present - at micron there is a series pro hardly more expensively, there is still a series max, but it is assured that it not for you)
HDD - WD40EURX 4 for .
No anything against I have, but it should be not unique  (to store  on the same computer, as the data - the bad idea, for example unsuccessfully burned down  can deprive of you all at once)
On this point:
Switch HP 1950-48G-2SFP +-2XGT for 10 on the server.
I would take dllnk 1510-52x, costs twice more cheaply

It as it you managed through  a network to give 300  in a second? (~2.4 gigabits per second)

1. What for to data store a dual-processor platform? Also is a platform "anybody", i.e. neither storage, nor in it is not present processors, disks
2. All ruler X9 is laid off very long ago. Second-hand want to acquire? And the same question about a dual-processor platform.
How many users will work with this storage, 8  is the necessary useful volume or the desire is simple?

13

Re: I ask the help in a configuration choice.

At my place HP Microserver NL36L with a disk on 8 gives to a network on gigabit in some flows with loading of the processor of 50-70 %.
The girl (if you really girl), you address to experts-integrators, they pick up to you a config under tasks. Well  here then it is possible to lay out a config and its local people .

Re: I ask the help in a configuration choice.

I do not understand servers, therefore at once did not understand about a dual-processor platform.
About second-hand and not second-hand: without a difference.
About "8  is the necessary useful volume or the desire is simple?" - in the job which to me a distance, is not specified, is faster 8  - as much as possible necessary memory size...
I so understand, the second variant is better for discarding?
