Hello, Kaifa, you wrote: K> in English. K> met two variants. For example, 1942 Depends on a year. 1942 read as 19 42. I do not remember, that heard differently. Two-thousand read without breaking (two thousand six) 10 read both so, and so. Plus English happen different. In Australia or Great Britain all can be on another.

Hello, Kaifa, you wrote: K> as it is correct? 19xx almost always heard in a type "19-hh", and here 20 more often in the full form. Business as it seems to me, in length of a phrase - in the first case "the full version" much more  short, and here in the second they differ insignificantly. I think, when business reaches to 21 again switch to short form - but I hardly will see it

"The full date please" - me asked once again. "One thousand nine hundred eighty first", answered I, is sincere  slow-wittednesses questioning. Then me reached, but more specifying questions to me did not set

Variants approximately correspond to Russian: 1) one thousand nine hundred forty second; 2) one thousand nine hundred forty second. More interesting type 09/03 date. On-britanski it 9th March, and in an American way - 3th September.

Simply - "was born in the seventh year", "plans for the eighteenth year" etc. "20" do not speak, as well as "2000".
