Topic: PREEMPTIVE_OS_FILEOPS In the course of RESTORE

By absolutely new machine I try to recover basis from . Process hangs many hours without driving.
Percent Complete - 0.00
wait_type - PREEMPTIVE_OS_FILEOPS
CPU - 1 %
DB in the size about 4.5 TB. Recovery of a small DB transits without problems.

All it in the virtual environment.
There was somebody? Where to run, what to do?  while anything reasonable it was not possible.

sti;
What size of a broad gull of an initial DB was?
What sense to look CPU for FILEOPS, look IO

140 GB, it is normal on 90 % it is not occupied

wrote:

it I to that the machine is occupied by nothing. IO too on zero.

Perhaps actually something is written, but slowly...
And that if to look through Procmon.exe from sysinternals with the filter on Process Name = sqlserver.exe and Path = <at reset files>. There there is any driving?

Re: PREEMPTIVE_OS_FILEOPS In the course of RESTORE

Eleanor;
I not the administrator install something I can not. But judging by the network traffic ( lies by other machine) it is written nothing. That that to me  in Google describes precisely such symptoms. Only anywhere did not find the decision.

But the monitor that you can come into a resource?

At you Hyper-V 2012 R2. You instead of VHD a disk (a limit of 2 Tbytes) made VHDX a disk (a limit of 64 Tbytes). On a default there not fixed size, and dynamic. You agreed. And in vain.
Here now it will expand VHDX while the file of basis of 4.5 TBYTE there is not located.
Well I so think.

Re: PREEMPTIVE_OS_FILEOPS In the course of RESTORE

Andy_OLAP;
Similar. I learn tomorrow from administrators. Thanks.

Then it still all will fill it with zeroes if zero file initialization on SQL did not include...

So, it will be correct here so
Then it still all will fill it with zeroes if zero file initialization on SQL ungeared

And even more correctly to write that it in Windows did not adjust. For though  and server, "on the server" it you will not adjust, it  the privilege produced  to an account

Oh, yes it is fine to you to carp at trifles

It is quite possible to treat, how

Checked up. The size fixed.

Re: PREEMPTIVE_OS_FILEOPS In the course of RESTORE

sti;
Clarify speed of record on this disk, for example at a 1Gbajt \minute of 75 hours recovery occupies + 75 hours nulling (if it is included, , and it is included time Percent Complete - 0.00 many hours) before it...

It was possible to see disk writing, i.e. happening nulling? Or at you even such rights are not present?

17

Re: PREEMPTIVE_OS_FILEOPS In the course of RESTORE

Checked up, nulling is disconnected. I remind, a broad gull 140 GB. I waited 20 hours on and Percent Complete = 0.00

The HARDWARE ignores for a long time already requests though somehow to look, whether there is a record in files. To it still yesterday suggested to look procmon th.

But probably software RAID-1? Check the status of disks...

State that RAID-10.
What is the status of disks?
