Topic: Access Oracle how to connect (instead of ID to specify values)
Hello! There is a problem:
There are two bases one in Access, and the second in Oracle.
In Access there is a table (we name it Data) which pulls the data from other tables. That it was more clear, the table contains following columns: Article (it is tightened from table Article_L1), a subentry (is tightened from table Article_L2) and subentry specification (is tightened from table Article_L3). The subentry depends on article, and specification of a subentry from a subentry. A key in all tables is the counter. In table Data there is a column with the total. On the basis of table Data, for convenience of the user the form is created.
Also the table of Oracle (we name it Report) is imported to basis Access. In this table also is Article_L1, Article_L2, Article_L3 and a column with the total. Article_L1, Article_L2, Article_L3 have text value.
At attempts of comparing of results on columns of the totals in tables Data and Report, request, these two tables cannot communicate, as in table Data values, and counters of values are tightened not.
Text values Article_L1, Article_L2, Article_L3 in tables Data and Report are absolutely identical.
Prompt, please, that it is necessary to make with Data that it produced not values of the counter, and specific text values (articles, subentries and subentry specifications) which can be compared with values in Report. How to level ID to specific text values Article_L1, Article_L2, Article_L3?
Could not find at a forum the decision, probably, not correctly I formulate request if already was drop, please, the link.
Thankful in advance.
