Topic:

The system unit of Dell Optiplex 7010 SFF, on which 2 PCI-E x16 slots got. To documentation it is written that one of them PCI-E x16 (wired x4). And also  for this model network wire and wireless adapters of own manufacture of Dell are on sale.
Question:
1. What means PCI-E x16 (wired x4)? It means, what on this slot except 16 it is possible to plant only 4 a card?
2. Whether any will work PCI-E the wireless adapter of other vendors on this slot?
Thanks

It means that on the size 16X slot, but signal lines are involved in it to 4X only. For Wi-Fi it is enough adapter 1X.
2. Should be still the driver for Windows 7. Adapters of other vendors will work, if the firm of Dell did not make of harm a noise for this purpose about what I do not know.

1. Means there and the videocard can be planted, but productivity will be less?
2. And what noise the vendor can make? Same not a satellite receiver that in an insertion were the driver only one chip or the TV set webcam , which driver  in its software.

Yes. Moreover on DX12/Vulkan API your cards even together can work, but such games of times two and everything for it is necessary to do support of such feature at engine level.

Yes all is simple, at start with thrust the stranger  (not from the list of the allowed equipment stitched in ) it writes at loading that the unsupported equipment and  is revealed.
So normally do in .
